When Nintendo was at the height of innovation – a new breed of controller – copied by everyone, the rumble pack – copied by everyone, phenomenal games library – unfortunately not copied by anyone, and Nintendo quit making classics to make minigame comps for 5 years olds
I was just playin this last night. Holy crap, nintendo is like a textbook of flawless game design. those controls are just perfect.
Of course these days instead of giving us pure action and adventure gaming goodness like the days of old, now we’re being bomparded with fitness simulators and several half-baked music games in replacement. All they can do is give all their mario games direct sequels to try and win us back
Did you hear what she just said? It was “Multiple interactive 3D environments”, not “Multiple gameplay modes” or whatnot. Being stupid is one thing, but you’re stone deaf too. I love Star Fox 64, but this is just sensationalist tripe.
Considering they show the tank, I think it’s supposed to allude to different game play types. But don’t worry, you’d have to have the cognition of at least a 7 year old in order to put two and two together.
That commerical was overhyped. Infact, they’ve been putting out overhyped commericals like that since the late 80′s. For example: The power glove commericals are beyond hype border-lining on delusions of grandeur.
I just realized i’m exactly as old as the NES. 1983
What!? I don’t remember a commercial. I remember I got the game when it was first out (1997), but I never remember any of these commercials. I guess that me being 5 at the time might be a factor.
Is it the joystick. Man if I had a nickel for every joystick I’ve seen broken on those.
I had this tiny or small black controller. it was easy to put in the codes for that star wars game. like lives and health cause you had to hold l and r and c buttons.

If I ever go to hell it’s because I humped the controller at the toys-r-us starfox 64 kiosk
