The Holy Grail of unreleased SNES prototypes. It was truly a shame this game was not released, it shows just how much diference the SFX-2 chip was in relation to the original SFX chip. It was much later that the knowledge of this near Gold cart was confirmed, being dumped and analyzwed by the ZSNES team, until it was eventualy made playable. Soon after, AGTP released a english patch to the game, that also removed the debug features (such has the onscreen FPS counter). Most of the ideas of ...
they were extra characters later taken out because of relevance. and it’s a tiger not a dog
Wow! That looks INCREDIBLE!! MUCH, much better than how the first one looked! I can see where they got the design for Command. :p
@Pro21xx **** you man! The N64 Is amazing! This game would have been awesome too.
FUCK THE N64 this could have been DAMMMMMM BETTER
I have a couple of cartridges of this game and It is awsome on the harder settings there is way more action going on plus you have to consider what is going on on the map when you go into the battles since everything is still happening real time. Plus finding the hidden Andross Coins, if you collect them all you unlock something special in the game.
This was released… for Famicom. One of my true regrets in adulthood is … finding Star Fox II when I was a kid at an EB Games – for $5… my mom wouldn’t give me the money for it… and NOW as an adult I have a Super Famicom… UGH UGH UGH
one is not a cat
its a linx
its miyu the linx and fay the dog
… not to sound rude, but that’s a big “duh.”
I know they’re unreleased.
I wasn’t asking “what,” but “who” they were. =)
Unreleased characters,
So, who’s the cat and the dog?
I’m interested about those two extra characters…
Why do you say that? If it is true then, at least they can make a Wiiware version.
just go to google and type in snes start fox 2 rom
Actually, Star Fox means innovation… The chip FX was something incredible for the SNES and the rumble pack and the voice system in SF64 were great… its a shame that the other versions of SF… well, you know.
I REALLY **** to say this but, It will never be released on the VC……I want the rom sooooo bad!! Did you know Star Wolf was originally suposed to appear in this game?
oh man, i remember the egm preview of this in an old issue. i think i still have it somewhere. it totally got me pumped for it. the year went on and i kept wondering where it was. eventually the 64 came out and i forgot about it. too bad. this had great potential to be fantastic and a final goodbye from the snes.
It really is a shame it was never released
man personally this game is ok but the orginal was better
This really needs to be released on the Wii virtual console! Come on Nintendo, apparently one of the devs said it was complete, even if it wasn’t all it would need is a little work.
Yes, I agree.
the enamy battleships kinda look like star destroyers wich makes them awsome
Ok. I know, unreleased. WHERE CAN WE DOWNLOAD THIS ROM? I think thats what many of us Star Fox fans are interested in. Great video; makes me want to play it, really bad.
Am I the only one who thinks the actual gameplay looks slightly worse than the original, with targets going out of range and flight being interupted for less than necessary reasons. Also the music doesnt seem as good and I can tell just by looking at the new characters that I wouldnt have liked them
Yes they really need to and i’m pissed off because this game looks so much better then the first star fox but nobody could play it because it wasnt released!!!!lll
Oh… Then they should just release it!
It’s the same situation with EarthBound zero, the game was translated to english, but was never released, ccause it was finished at the end of the NES’s life span. But afew hackers found a game, put it onto the net, and then less than decade later, someone is selling reproduction carts of it (I have a EB 0 repro cart, I’m gonna wait on the starfox 2 repro cause it’s 100 bucks…)
the game is finished.. they just never released it
