That’s probably just an issue with the emulator you use. Feel free to try a different N64 emulator and see what happens, as these programs are most imperfect. I really doubt it’s the ROM, as it’s not rocket science to dump them, and while bad ones do come out, they get replaced by working ones pretty quickly.
Sorry, but if you want a perfect experience, buy an N64 + the Starfox cartridge. Be glad the game runs with only sound not working: in the PS2 emulation scene, people are really _excited_ when that’s all that’s wrong with a game! Seriously.
Go to “the old computer dot com”, go into the N64 roms, and there should be a working rom with sound there. And make sure your volume is up in your PJ64 settings
That sounds like an emulator problem. I personally recommend buying an N64 on eBay or using a Wii’s Virtual Console feature to play an official version of the game–not only is it legal, it’s also guaranteed to work without nasty viruses.
I know it’s expensive, but emulators aren’t reliable, aren’t supported by game companies, and are illegal. Heck, just the fact that you’ve posted an emulator question in public, using your real name, might have alerted the FBI, for all I know.
I had the same problem. Here is the solution (if your using “project 64 1.6″ at least. Go to options>settings (or control+t) and change the audio plug in to the “Zilmar’s audio” plug in. It worked with me. You need to change it back when you get another game because the quality isn’t as good in other games for some reason :/ hope this helped!
